The genus Amorphophallus is derived from the terms "amorphos" meaning "formless" and "phallus" meaning "phallus". In its natural habitat it grows in tropical forests characterized by humid climates, where it can easily catch your eye with its enormous size, as some species can reach up to 3 meters in height. These rare plants are perennial and vary in size, have tuberous roots. These plants have a unique feature - the plant itself turns into one giant reddish colored flower with a long whitish stamen from which the genus takes its name.
