Tylecodon singularis

It is a truly peculiar succulent plant, impossible to associate with any family but due to its greenish-yellow inflorescence which, similarly to the other Crassulaceae, blooms at the apex of long stems. From an extremely short and slender stem, often underground, generally only one leaf develops during the growing season (hence the Latin name of the species “singularis”), almost perfectly spherical in shape, flat and with a diameter of up to 8 cm. The skin is a nice dark green, reddish in the lower surface and made opaque by a light down that covers the entire leaf. The upper surface, pleasantly rich in veins, makes the foliage of T. singularis strongly three-dimensional even if flat, for an extravagant and original overall appearance, truly inimitable!
