Ornithogalum nanodes

Its name comes from the Greek and has two etymological variants: according to some it literally means "bird’s milk", in reference to the milky liquid that escapes from the cut stems; according to others it means instead "rooster’s crest", to indicate the characteristic shape of its flowers when they are closed. It has a tuber that grows underground, in order to ensure the survival of the plant during periods of drought. From the bulb depart the stems with thin and elongated green leaves, similar to a bush. Its beautiful daisies flowers have oval petals, delicate and cream-white color.
