Description:

A. rubriflora is an exemplar of South African perennial succulent that with growth can reach 25 cm in length. It has triangular and pointed leaves; arranged in the shape of a star, of opaque green color almost glaucous that with prolonged exposure to the sun tend to turn brown. The epidermis is entirely covered by a layer of whitish plum that gives it an almost waxy appearance. These succulents in their habitat grow under shrubs that protect them from the excessive exposure to the sun. Its name 'rubriflora' refers to the tubular red flowers that bloom at the apex of the plant during the summer attracting birds and thus facilitating pollination.

Plant care:

It likes semi-sunny or semi-shaded areas, avoiding direct sun rays during the hottest hours.

Coming from arid areas, it loves high temperatures, especially if sheltered from the direct sun. It is recommended to shelter it during the winter period.

It needs water only when the soil is completely dry. In winter it is advisable to completely suspend watering.

A well-draining substrate is an optimal solution, consisting of lapilli and pumice, combined with peat which facilitates growth.

They do not need frequent fertilizations, it is enough to dilute fertilizer with watering once a year.
