Also known as "A. filifera subs. schidigera" is a perennial succulent plant, which forms medium-sized rosettes, reaching over time up to 65 cm in width. It is distinguished from the Agave filifera for its broader leaves, with an erect habit and which have the long white and curled filaments typical for A. filifera. One of its strengths is its resistance to cold, which makes it easy to grow even for beginners. Flowering is very variable for each specimen (from annual to once every 30 years). The sap of A. schidigera is used to make tequila.
