Agave potatorum

It is a very beautiful succulent, which is loved for its perfect symmetry and the variable colors of its leaves. It consists of a rosette, which sometimes reaches considerable diameters, made up of leaves ranging in color from light green to greyish-white glaucous, they are slightly fleshy and very rigid, oblong, ending in sharp brown tips, surrounded by slight dark and hard teeth. The name of the species literally means "Agave of the drinkers", referring to the particular use of this plant: in addition to being extremely ornamental, perhaps not many know that the fermented leaves of Agave potatorum are widely used in the territories of its origin to produce spirits such as "pulque" - a sort of Mexican wine, as well as liqueurs, like Bacanora and Mescal.
