Lenopetalum (Succulents)

We are talking about a genus as particular as little known, whose origin is not natural, but obtained in the nursery by the union between two different genera of the Crassulaceae family, Lenopetalum, as the same compound name shows, comes from Lenophyllum and Graptopetalum, which together give life to an exemplar that combines the characteristics of both parents to get something absolutely unique! Perfect to bring a touch of elegance to your locations, Lenopetalum is a rarity that can not miss in the collections of true connoisseurs. It is a kind of succulent rather delicate and small size but, if you can take care of it, the charm of its attractive colors and the shine of its leaves will leave you speechless! Here are some tips for its cultivation: It needs a lot of light during all seasons, avoid direct sunrays in the hottest hours of the day, as they risk to cause sunburn on the leaves Keep it at mild temperatures, never lower than 8 º C. It is recommended to place it in sheltered places in winter. Water moderately, only when the soil is completely dry. It’s enough once a week in spring and summer. Suspend altogether in winter. It is optimal to have a strongly draining soil, in order to avoid rottenness, for example formed by a mixture of peat and pumice so that water does not stagnate. It does not need frequent fertilizations, it will be sufficient to dilute the fertilizer with the water of the waterings once a year.
