Description:
The only plant of its genus, Yavia cryptocarpa is a very small plant with short spines and a tuberous root. In the wild it has a flattened body but when cultivated the surplus water and nutrients make the body become elongated. From the downy top of the plant colorful flowers bloom, as wide as the plant itself.

Plant care:
Withstands the most extreme exposures, from the direct sun and intense heat, to frost. It prefers an exposure to bright light.
It easily withstands any temperature, it can even resist down to -10 °C in dry soil conditions.
Water weekly in summer, making sure the soil is dry before proceeding with a new watering. Decrease watering in winter, even up to once every 1-2 months.
A well-draining substrate, rich in minerals, would be an optimal solution.
They do not need frequent fertilization, it is sufficient to dilute the fertilizer with watering once a year.
