Description:

Magnificent exeplar of large caudiciform plant, T. paniculatus is known as Butter tree, or Butterboom. Its bright green leaves grow in small but graceful groups at the apex of its short branches. During drought periods the leaves fall to allow the plant to preserve as much water as possible. The stem is very ramified and massive; during the growth it gets shades ranging from yellowish to olive green, with a yellowish bark streaked by the evident signs of the fall of the leaves. Its beautiful bell-shaped flowers, orange or red, grow at the top of the plant during the beginning of summer and will create a wonderful chromatic contrast with the succulent and with your environments!

Plant care:

It requires a lot of brightness during all seasons and rather airy places.

It is preferable to keep it at mild temperatures and never below 6 °C, for this reason it is recommended to shelter it during the winter period.

Water moderately but only when the soil is completely dry. It is enough to water the plant once a week in spring and summer, once a month in autumn and to suspend watering completely in winter.

The best option is a soil suitable for cacti, even better if further mixed with pumice or lapilli.

They do not need frequent fertilization, it is sufficient to dilute the fertilizer with watering once a year.
