Description:

Tylecodon grandiflorus, often called the 'dwarf butter tree', is a thick-stemmed, greyish-colored succulent. From the Latin 'grandis' which means 'large' and 'floris' which means 'flowers', its name determines the fact that this plant has the largest flowers of its kind. The leaves of T. grandiflorus, these have an elongated shape and can measure up to ten centimeters, are a beautiful bright green with darker shades. The period of growth of this species is the winter one, therefore it is important to have good and constant irrigation until the arrival of the warmer seasons. Tylecodon grandiflorus loves a shady position.

Plant care:

It requires a lot of brightness during all seasons and rather airy places.

It is preferable to keep it at mild temperatures and never below 6 °C, for this reason it is recommended to shelter it during the winter period.

Water moderately but only when the soil is completely dry. It is enough to water the plant once a week in spring and summer, once a month in autumn and to suspend watering completely in winter.

The best option is a soil suitable for cacti, even better if further mixed with pumice or lapilli.

They do not need frequent fertilization, it is sufficient to dilute the fertilizer with watering once a year.
