Description:

Miniature jewel, extremely slow in growth, but absolutely unique and very rare to find even among the most experienced collectors. It has a spherical stem that with growth can become cylindrical, equipped with slightly grooved tubercles with a spiral pattern, which however is almost completely hidden by the true spearhead of this cactus: its thorns look like many microscopic white feathers, especially at the apex where they thicken, giving the whole plant an absolutely elegant and unrepeatable appearance. Between February and March, the whiteness of Turbinicarpus valdezianus stands in strong contrast with the wonderful flowers, veined with a lively magenta or sometimes dark reddish, which bloom at the apex of the cactus. It is truly impressive to see how such a small cactus can be so perfect in every detail!

Plant care:

It likes very bright places, however, avoid direct sunlight during the hottest hours of the day.

It prefers rather mild temperatures, however it still survives even at temperatures close to freezing if the soil is dry.

Water moderately, only when the soil is completely dry. It is enough to water the plant once a week in spring and summer, once a month in autumn and to suspend watering completely in winter.

A well-draining and porous soil is an optimal solution, even better if further enriched with 50% of inert materials such as pumice or lapilli.

They do not need frequent fertilization, it is sufficient to dilute the fertilizer with watering once a year.
