Description:

It is a real collector's jewel, as rare as extremely captivating for the combination of the extravagant shape and its long and ferocious sturdy spines! There are very few specimens grown in the nursery, and this is one of the reasons why it is extremely sought after by green collectors from all over the world, as well as for the imposing sizes it can reach (sometimes even up to 3 m in height!). Due to its very particular asymmetrical fan shape it resembles an olive green sculpture, in which the three-dimensional ribs create a profoundly harmonious pattern. This elegant look contrasts nicely with the long stiff and thick spines that fade in color from creamy white to black at the tips. There is no more beautiful plant to give a touch of originality and extravagance to your spaces!

Plant care:

It requires a lot of light and likes direct sun rays.

It is preferable to keep it at mild temperatures and never below 5 °C, for this reason it is recommended to place it in sheltered places during the winter period.

It requires little water in summer, only when the soil is completely dry, while it is preferable to suspend completely watering in winter. It is easy to notice if the plant requires water from the loss of turgor of its stems.

The best option is to use a substrate suitable for cacti, with the addition of fine sand for good drainage.

They do not need frequent fertilization, it is sufficient to dilute the fertilizer with watering once a year.
