Synonym: Echinopsis Formosa. It's a typically solitary cactaceae plant of a globular shape. It can grow into a columnar shape reaching up to one meter in height. Its long spines vary from yellow to brown color and grow from the numerous areoles present on the stem. It is a slow growing species perfect for outdoors as it needs prolonged exposure to the sun and has a high resistance to dry cold. But be careful of the soil moisture as it could cause roots rotting. The flowers open only during the day and their brightly colored yellow, orange and red petals take on a funnel shape.
