The Scilla violacea f. variegated is a succulent plant that forms small bulbs visible outside the ground. The leaves are small, elongated and gradually narrow towards the tip. The epidermis is of a deep green color with darker spots scattered along the foliage, the edges are creamy yellow; the lower part of the leaves is of a wonderful purplish color, hence the name of the species. Flowering occurs in late spring-summer, giving life to small green and purple flowers that form clusters.
