Description:

A wonderful specimen of Sansevieria with a varied shape. Its fleshy leaves have vertical streaks and spots due to the lack of chlorophyll, spots that will never appear identical in two or more plants. This makes each specimen unique. The name of this extraordinary succulent native to Kenya comes from the Latin 'pinguis' which means fat, referring to the appearance of its leaves. S. pinguicula is well known for its peculiarity that distinguishes it from all the Sansevieria: unlike the others, it develops long and robust aerial roots which end in a new plant. This characteristic makes it highly sought after by collectors all over the world and thanks to its particular bearing is also called Sansevieria ambulante. It has a slow growth and can reach a maximum height of 30 cm. Its leaves are fleshy, arranged in rosette and moon-shaped ending with a tip. The epidermis is bluish green, with a pruine that protects it from atmospheric agents..

Plant care:

It likes a lot of brightness, preferably avoiding direct sunlight.

It is preferable to keep it at mild temperatures and never below 10 °C, for this reason it is recommended to place it in sheltered places: it adapts perfectly to the temperatures of apartments and offices.

Water moderately, only when the soil is completely dry. It is enough to water the plant once every 10 days in summer and once a month in winter.

A well-draining soil suitable for succulents is an optimal solution: gravel can be added to facilitate drainage and we recommend pots with a diameter that is not very large, but that are rather deep.

They do not need frequent fertilization, it is sufficient to dilute the fertilizer with watering once a year.
