Description:

This lovely looking fat plant is a hybrid of S. cylindrica, not found in nature and is highly appreciated for its particular appearance. Its leaves are fleshy, lanceolate, pointed and slightly curved outwards. The skin is dark green with numerous streaks of light-greyish green with a brown line along the edges , resembling more and more to a real jewel. That’s why this wonderful succulent is called 'Jewel crown' or 'Crown of jewels'. The plant does not need special care in cultivation; watering should not be very frequent and the soil must be completely dry before watering. In summer it is also watered once a week while in winter very rarely. S. 'Jewel crown' is suitable to decorate your interior giving a touch of elegance.

Plant care:

It likes a lot of brightness, preferably avoiding direct sunlight.

It is preferable to keep it at mild temperatures and never below 10 °C, for this reason it is recommended to place it in sheltered places: it adapts perfectly to the temperatures of apartments and offices.

Water moderately, only when the soil is completely dry. It is enough to water the plant once every 10 days in summer and once a month in winter.

A well-draining soil suitable for succulents is an optimal solution: gravel can be added to facilitate drainage and we recommend pots with a diameter that is not very large, but that are rather deep.

They do not need frequent fertilization, it is sufficient to dilute the fertilizer with watering once a year.
