P. baronii is a succulent exemplar that in nature can exceed even the 2m of height. It has a tuberous stem of greyish green color that with time becomes brown, from which emerge robust thorns scattered throughout the surface. Its leaves grow at the apex of the branches; they have an oval shape and are of an intense green color. There are also well-defined veins. During the flowering period, spring-summer, P. baronii will give us beautiful flowers of intense red color with delicate petals.
