Oreocereus hendriksenianus

Peculiar cactus consisting of columnar stems that tend to grow in groups; each body tends to take on a shape similar to a club, with the apical part wider than the base. Of a beautiful opaque dark green, the stem of O. hendriksenianus is completely covered by a sort of rather long and soft whitish down, which tends to stretch further into a pleasant apical tuft. Among the fluff, long sturdy spines of an intense brownish-orange emerge from large rounded and white areoles, reaching over 5 cm in length, remaining very straight and protruding towards the outside. In the height of summer, the wild charm of the cactus is "softened" by large, refined flowers in shades of red or pink.
