Oreocereus celsianus f. crested

The crested form of this beautiful cactus has a typical fan-shaped appearance, which makes each specimen unique and never the same as the others, therefore it is highly sought after by green collectors from all over the world. In its classic form it is a cactacea plant of a columnar and cylindrical shape, surrounded by hairy and long filaments at first yellowish, which later take on a gray-white color. The filaments are mainly denser in the apical part, creating some sort of a "hat" to protect the plant from the sun's rays. On the stem there are large and oval areoles of a white-gray color, from which the long spines of a yellow-brown color emerge.
