Its name literally means "new Lloydia", chosen in honor of the botanist Francis Ernest Lloyd (the term Lloydia was already used to identify a Liliacea genus). These are small cacti of desert areas, globular or slightly cylindrical and provided with conical, very pronounced tubercles, recognizable by their spines of variable length, even on the same specimen, combined with an abundant whitish down, especially at the apex. They have a particularity: often, if the climatic conditions are optimal, they tend to have two seasons of flowering, brightening up your ambiences, both in spring and in autumn, with lovely inflorescences in red-magenta shades, very lively and decorative!
