Description:

Nice succulent, whose name derives from latin and literally means “similar to a necklace”, which grows as a low but strongly branched shrub; its stems are fleshy and covered in a covered by a whitish, almost papery, leaf sheath which completely covers and protects them. During fall on each short branch firstly grows a pair of small leaves almost rounded; only later, from the center of the two leaves, two other completely different ones grow, up to 15 cm long and cylindrical, which give the complex the nice shape of the ears of a bunny (hence the common name of “succulent rabbit”). The foliage, of a brilliant light green, is covered with small crystalline cells that make it rough to the touch and allow the plant to carry out photosynthesis more easily. Between autumn and winter M. moniliformis will delight you with candid and delicate large daisy-shaped flowers, which will stand out among the long leaves for several days. It is an extremely extravagant-looking succulent, perfect for those who want to give their collection an edge or simply for those who want to embellish their rooms with something that wouldn’t certainly go unnoticed!

Plant care:

It loves very sunny and ventilated spaces at the same time.

It prefers mild temperatures between 10 and 25 ° C, but some species resist well even to lower temperatures.

Regular but moderate watering is recommended in winter, only when the soil is completely dry. In summer it is preferable to further reduce the water supply.

A very draining substrate is optimal, consisting of specific soil for succulent plants to which a part of inert material is added, such as pumice or sand, to make the soil even more porous.

It does not need frequent fertilization, it will be sufficient to dilute fertilizer with watering once a year.
