Also known by the synonyms of Aylostera nigricans or Lobivia nigricans, it has a cylindrical stem, slightly elongated, of a green color. The whitish areoles are oval and well spaced. The short and thin spines are bristly and take on a color that can vary from brown to white. Flowering occurs in spring and continues in summer, blooming with beautiful funnel-shaped flowers, of extremely variable colors, ranging from white to pink, salmon red and orange.
