Matucana aureiflora f. variegata

The variegated shape of this cactaceae has the characteristic yellow zones in correspondence of the exact points where the chlorophyll is absent: such striations are never equal from one cactus to another, therefore each specimen is absolutely unique and, for this reason, very sought after by collectors of succulents. It is a beautiful globe-shaped cactus slightly flattened and grows slowly in nature; if cultivated in a pot is fast growing. Its epidermis is bright green and the yellow-brown thorns may be straight or slightly curved towards the stem. The yellow flowers of M. aureiflora bloom between spring and summer and remain open both day and night. It’s an easy plant to grow.
