Matucana aurantiaca f. crested

The beautiful crested shape of M. aurantiaca is very appreciated by lovers of succulents for its unique and unusual shape. In its normal form it is a globe-shaped cactus, tending to become cylindrical during growth. Its green stem has numerous protruding tubercles, at the apex of which are found woolly areoles from which emerge the radial and central spines. The first are thin, yellowish, while the central ones are more robust and brown. Its magnificent funnel-shaped flowers bloom during the summer and take on a beautiful and very lively orange hue.
