Description:

Wonderful succulent not present in nature, but obtained in nursery even by the union between species of two different genera, Agave and Manfreda. The exemplar obtained is arranged in an ample rosette formed by turgid leaves, long and lanceolate, rather flat and tending with the growth to assume arcuate posture and to end in a very sharp tip, typical of the Agaves. The appearance of the foliage is enriched by a bursting rigid dentition along the margins. At first sight, the epidermis appears almost silvery white, which gives the same name to the species due to the resemblance to the fur of the specimen of silver fox. This effect is obtained thanks to a layer of whitish waxy coating that completely covers the light green. When abundantly exposed to sunlight M. 'Silver Fox' dyes its epidermis with a veiled purple maculation, rendered tenuous by the overlying lining. The exemplar manages wonderfully to combine the majestic and imposing form of Agave with the particular colors of Manfreda, generating an absolutely unique plant, perfect to bring into your environments a solemn and majestic charm without comparison!

Plant care:

It likes very bright places, however, avoid direct sunlight during the hottest hours of the day. It prefers environments with low humidity.

It is preferable to keep it at mild temperatures and never below 5 °C, for this reason it is recommended to shelter it during the winter period.

Water moderately but only when the soil is completely dry. It is enough to water the plant once a week in spring and summer, suspend watering completely in autumn and winter.

The best soil is a well-draining one, even better if further enriched with inert materials such as pumice, sand or lapilli.

They do not need frequent fertilization, it is sufficient to dilute the fertilizer with watering once a year.
