Huernia whitesloaneana

The name of this succulent was chosen in honor of Alain White and Boyd Sloane, two botanists strongly fond of the world of Asclepiadaceae. It is one of the smallest succulents of the entire genus, characterized by slender stems that do not exceed 3 cm in height, tending rather to develop into wonderful groupings with an absolutely original character. The stems, of a nice light green often shaded of violet when the plant is exposed to abundant sunlight, are dotted with soft and rather evident teeth. The real strength of Huernia is definitely its peculiar flower, which in a single centimeter in diameter manages to enclose multiple details: its 5-pointed surface, of a soft cream color, is adorned with burgundy dots and streaks that, near the throat, tend to take on the appearance of concentric circles, giving rise to a real miniature show!
