Succulent with a peculiar look, formed by slender stems that reach even 30 cm of length, prostrating on the ground (hence the name of the species) and rooting quickly. Resembling reptilians, they have little marked ribs and tiny leaves, which fall quickly to leave room for whitish scars that look like soft teeth. The epidermis of Huernia procumbens assumes pleasant violet-brown shades that are accentuated with greater exposure to sunlight. One of the strengths of this wonderful Asclepiadaceae is undoubtedly its peculiar flower: at the base of the younger buds bloom in fact wonderful star-shaped inflorescences consisting of 5 very elongated cream-colored tips, pleasantly red-dotted bordeaux and enriched by a dark three-dimensional central ring.
