Its name derives from ancient Latin “pendula” due to the hanging bearing of its stems. This perennial succulent plant features cylindrical green stems, entirely covered with small tubercles, which can vary in color according to sun exposure or dry cold conditions. Flowering occurs in autumn, generating beautiful bell-shaped flowers with an intense red color which emanate a peculiar smell, that attracts insects to facilitate pollination.
