The name of the species, which in Latin means literally "hidden", refers to its habit of growing in the deepest undergrowth, hidden in full shade. It is a succulent with a distinctive look, formed by extremely slender and asymmetrically tuberculated stems, similar in appearance to real tentacles tending to crawl on the ground and root quickly. The real strong point of this succulent is undoubtedly its inflorescence: characterized by a star shape typical of the Asclepiadaceae but with softer tips, the flowers assume peculiar cream colourations enriched by showy bright red or burgundy dots, for a complex so detailed and original that can not go unnoticed!
