Hoya callistophylla

This wonderful succulent is native to the tropical forests of Southeast Asia. H. callistophylla is very appreciated by collectors and lovers of succulents for its particularly ornamental appearance. Its fleshy oval-shaped leaves, which can be light green or glaucous green in colour, have dark tones with raised veins that create very particular patterns and vary according to the variety of H. callistophylla. For example, in the variety 'Black cat' the name is given in relation to the shade of its leaves, which are darker and with strongly marked veins. The small flowers of Hoya have a star shape and an almost waxy appearance and for this reason they are also called wax flowers.
