It can be considered an extremely rare cactus, since the population that grows in the wild in Mexico grows in a territory of a few hundred meters and includes just over 200 specimens! It has a globular body, slightly depressed at the top, with little pronounced rhomboid tubercles, from which extremely thin and rather short thorns, of a translucent whitish color, emerge in a radial pattern around the tiny areola. When the plant is still young and growing, the thorns are slightly faded from yellow to brown on the tips, creating a pleasant contrast with the white fluff that develops abundantly at the top.
