Pleasant succulent extremely appreciated as an ornamental plant, characterized by a bulb partially exposed above the ground and covered with bark scales that make it very similar to the pineapple plant, with which it also shares the type of inflorescence: precisely because of this resemblance Eucomis is commonly known also as "pineapple flower". From the bulb come out long lanceolate leaves, flat and strongly pointed at the apex, which reach even 50 cm long and radiate from the stem: the appearance that is obtained is extremely suggestive, further amplified by delicate longitudinal streaks along the foliage ranging from bright green to lighter and softer shades. The foliage appears strongly wavy thanks to the microscopically jagged margins. One of the strengths of the succulent is, however, the inflorescence: from the center of the rosette comes out in fact a long rigid stem, at the apex of which develops a panicle characterized by a multitude of small cream-colored flowers, extremely refined and with a decidedly intense smell, which are appreciated all over the world even as cut flowers to adorn bouquets or embellish vases!
