Description:

A rare succulent plant with a caudex, from which green heart-shaped leaves with darker veins arise. During the vegetative rest it loses its leaves to grow them back when it is in vegetation. In its caudex it stores water to survive during drought periods. It is highly appreciated by green collectors from all over the world for its very particular flower. The flat and oblong inflorescence is boat-shaped, inside it is rough to the touch, because it contains many tiny yellow or brown flowers. Along the edges of the inflorescence you can see long ''tentacles'' that make this plant unique and particular.

Plant care:

They grow well in dimness but require a lot of undirected light.

It is preferable to keep it at mild temperatures and never below 15 °C, for this reason it is recommended to shelter it during the winter period.

Water moderately, only when the soil is completely dry. It is enough to water it once a week in spring and summer, reduce watering to once every two months in autumn and to suspend it completely in winter.

The best soil is a well draining one, for example formed by a mix of peat and pumice so that water does not stagnate.

They do not need frequent fertilization, it is sufficient to dilute the fertilizer with watering once a year.
