Denmoza rhodacantha

It is a slow-growing, solitary, globular cactus that can cluster over time. Its light green body, which is slightly concave at the apex, has multiple well furrowed ribs, equipped with numerous elongated and lignified areoles of a white-gray color. The spines are long and rigid, slightly curved, of a red color. Flowering occurs only on large plants, blooming with tubular-shaped flowers of a beautiful bright reddish scarlet color.
