This variety of succulent is native to South Africa. Plants grow in arid, nutrient-poor areas and in soils where there is a lack of water. With the climate of South Africa, especially in the areas of the Western Cape where our plants reside, rains are present only in winter and with minimal rainfall. In these dry conditions, in rocky hills and otherwise in unfavourable soils, the Cylindrophyllum have adapted for survival by storing water reserves in their fleshy leaves. These reserves are used during drought periods. They are indoor plants accustomed to warm climates with sunny locations, and do not require special care and attention. The leaves are arranged in pairs, they have a similar appearance to those of the fingers of a hand. The flowers of this species bloom at half-day to close in the late afternoon. Tra le varietà di Cylindrophyllum troviamo: Cylindrophyllum calamiforme, Cylindrophyllum comptonii, Cylindrophyllum hallii, Cylindrophyllum obsubulatum, Cylindrophyllum tugwelliae ecc.
