Description:
In the Japanese language called ソ テ ツ Sotetsu. It's an attractive slow-growing plant, which can reach up to 3 meters in height. When the plant is young its trunk is underground, and over time the basal leaves dry up, forming a new trunk, which develops in height. Its leaves are long and wide, of an intense green color, which resemble a comb. It is a perfect plant for decorating rock gardens.

Plant care:
It likes an exposure to full sun in rather airy locations.
They are very resistant to the most extreme temperatures: they grow comfortably in hot climates and resist the temperatures up to -5 °C, though only if the soil is dry.
Water moderately and only when the soil is completely dry. It is enough to water it once a week in spring and summer, reduce it to once every two months in autumn and to suspend it completely in winter.
The best soil is a well draining and porous one, for example formed by a mix of peat and pumice so that water does not stagnate.
They do not need frequent fertilization, it is sufficient to dilute the fertilizer with watering once a year.
