Description:

The name "truncatum" comes from the Latin and refers to the characteristic shape of its truncated bodies at the apex and more flattened than other species. Each body keeps extremely small dimensions, developing a globose shape, flat at the apex and equipped with a central fissure; however. It is a plant that tends to grow rapidly forming wide carpets of multiple heads, characterized by a green-colored dull greyish, often streaked with wrinkles and dots of a more intense green hue. Accustomed to resting in the warm periods, protecting themselves with the previous dry leaves which cover them like a sheath, they instead grow luxuriantly in autumn and winter, when they will delight your locations with big nocturnal flowers on the notes of white and yellow.

Plant care:

It requires a lot of light throughout the year, however, avoid direct sunlight especially during the hottest hours of the day.

It is preferable to keep it at mild temperatures and never below 5 °C, for this reason it is recommended to shelter it during the winter period.

Water moderately but only when the soil is completely dry. It is enough to water the plant once every two weeks in spring and summer, reduce it to every two months in autumn and to suspend it completely in winter.

The best soil is a well draining one, for example formed by a mix of peat and pumice so that water does not stagnate.

They do not need frequent fertilization, it is sufficient to dilute the fertilizer with watering once a year.
