Conophytum schlechteri

Graceful succulent characterized by very small size and tendency to grow abundantly, up to give life with its small conical bodies to wonderful compact cushions with multiple heads. Conophytum has the typical inverted cone shape with flat apical surface, divided only by a central fissure from which, in autumn, will bloom wonderful whitish daisies. The epidermis, of a pale pale opaque green, is dotted with microscopic darker dots that make these fleshy leaves even more peculiar and ornamental! Like the other Conophytum, this plant has a particular growth: the new leaves form inside the stem and then come out when the old leaves begin to dry. Dry leaves protect the plant’s body during vegetative rest like a real blanket!
