Dwarf succulent, which does not exceed two or three cm in height, tending rather to develop horizontally until giving life to a cushion with multiple heads. The name of the species refers to the shape of Conophytum (literally "pear-shaped"), as this specimen takes a triangular shape, which widens towards the apex, thinning at the same time in depth. Each body consists of a pair of leaves completely fused together, separated only by the central fissure from which, in autumn, will bloom graceful flowers of a nice bright yellow. The epidermis is an intense opaque light green, often enriched by showy, slightly darker dots. Like the other specimens of Conophytum, this plant has a particular growth: the new foliage forms inside the stem and then comes out when the old leaves begin to dry; the dried leaves will be very useful during the vegetative rest of the succulent, as they will protect the new plant as a kind of paper sheath.
