Description:

Delicious miniature succulent, consisting of two leaves fused together, roundish and very fleshy, which do not exceed a few centimeters in diameter but rather tend to develop pleasant cushions with multiple heads. In the middle between the two leaves there is a fissure, from which large flowers bloom on the notes of magenta; it is one of the species of Conophytum that blooms first, already in early summer! Like all the species belonging to the genus Conophytum, it is amazing to notice its extreme adaptability: in fact, this succulent tends to store remarkable quantities of water in its massive leaves, to be exploited during the drought periods; is also able to reduce its volume and hide in the ground when it is in lack of water supply!

Plant care:

It requires a lot of light throughout the year, however, avoid direct sunlight especially during the hottest hours of the day.

It is preferable to keep it at mild temperatures and never below 5 °C, for this reason it is recommended to shelter it during the winter period.

Water moderately but only when the soil is completely dry. It is enough to water the plant once every two weeks in spring and summer, reduce it to every two months in autumn and to suspend it completely in winter.

The best soil is a well draining one, for example formed by a mix of peat and pumice so that water does not stagnate.

They do not need frequent fertilization, it is sufficient to dilute the fertilizer with watering once a year.
