It is a rare succulent of a monstrous shape that makes it unique and highly sought after by green collectors. Its brownish stem is fleshy and cylindrical, with multiple pointed tubercles, on which tiny triangular leaves grow, that are similar to scales. It blooms from spring to summer, generating particular and beautiful red and white spotted flowers with five thin and long petals, covered with a thick down.
