Succulent with extremely slender stems that will tend with growth, to prostrate on the ground. C. petignati in nature grow like climbing plants along other shrubs, from which, however, they derive only physical support. The characteristic for which it is so appreciated all over the world are its flowers. They are really unmistakable, when they bloom between spring and autumn they take on a shape similar to a parachute (hence the nickname "parachute plant") for its funnel tubes even 7 cm long, which widen together at the edges, to obtain at the apex a sort of cap with a very specific function: the petals are closed in this way to keep the insects the necessary time so that they are well covered with pollen and go to disperse it as much as possible!
