Description:

Cactus with a bearing similar to a real tree, which in nature can reach even 6 meters in height! When young it is formed by a single columnar stem, equipped with deep ribs rather close and well furrowed, along which very robust brown spines protrude that continue to grow throughout the life of the plant up to more than 15 cm long. When the cactus reaches maturity, in nature, it is usual to continue the growth with abundant apical ramifications: each branch, with rather reduced diameters, lengthens considerably and is characterized by total absence of thorns! The contrast that is generated between the extremely wild stem and the glabrous "crown" creates an absolutely unique scenic impact, further amplified by the gigantic white tubular flowers that bloom along the branches.

Plant care:

It requires a lot of light throughout the year, however avoid direct sunlight.

It is preferable to keep it at mild temperatures and never below 8 °C, for this reason it is recommended to shelter it during the winter period.

Water moderately, only when the soil is completely dry. It is enough to water the plant once a week in spring and summer and suspend watering completely in autumn and winter.

A strongly draining soil is optimal, for example formed by a mix of peat and pumice so that the water does not stagnate.

They do not need frequent fertilization, it is sufficient to dilute the fertilizer with watering once a year.
