The name of the genus Anacampseros derives from the Greek word "ἀνακαμπψέρος" which means "to lower", in fact it is a low-growing succulent plant, which clusters easily and assumes a carpet-like habit. The feature that makes it special is its small and underground caudex where it stores water to survive drought periods. Its olive green leaves turn from purple to reddish-brown with the prolonged exposure to the direct sun. When it blooms you can admire its beautiful large flowers ranging in color from pink to purple.
