Aloe pretoriensis

The name of this species refers to Pretoria, a South African town where the exemplar was found for the first time and where it is still widely spread in the wild. It is a succulent in the shape of a generally single rosette, which, however, reaches even one metre in diameter, rising from the ground with its single stem for more than one meter! It has long and lanceolate leaves, rather thin and pointed at the apex, pleasantly enriched along the margins by protruding reddish teeth. The epidermis is tenuous and delicate, of a beautiful bluish green or pale pastel green, which pleasantly contrasts with the inflorescences: these last ones develop in cluster at the apex of a ramified stem that reaches even the 2 meters, vivacizing the locations with its wonderful tubular flowers on the notes of a bright red.
