Agave marmorata cv. papilo platanoides

Beautiful Mexican succulent, which can grow to a considerable size in nature. It develops in the shape of a compact rosette, with elongated, rigid and fleshy leaves, pointy and almost spiraling around the central cone. Along the margins the foliage has serrations and blackish thorns, but what makes this plant truly unique is undoubtedly its colours: the epidermis looks like a real marble sculpture (hence the name of the variety), thanks to the its greyish-blue shades, enriched with silver or light blue streaks. This Agave will live many years without inflorescences until, before dying, it on very high stems wonderful panicles of white or bright yellow bell-shaped flowers will blossom.
