Description:

It is a wonderful perennial slow-growing succulent with tuberous roots that, over time, develop into a caudex, where water is stored to survive during drought periods. The leaves are fleshy and roundish, with a bluish-green colour spotted of bordeaux-red. In the variegated form are present along the epidermis typical yellowish zones in the exact points where the chlorophyll is absent, therefore they are never identical from one exemplar to another and this makes each plant absolutely unique and extremely sought after by the collectors. The flowering takes place on long and thin stems, generating tubular flowers of a greenish-yellow colour with pinkish tips.

Plant care:

It requires a lot of light all year long while avoiding direct sunlight.

Its natural habitat is in tropical climates, thus it does not withstand temperatures below 10 °C and it does not like too dry heat. It is therefore advisable to keep it away from cold and intense sun.

Water moderately and only when the soil is completely dry. Once every two weeks in spring and summer, reduce it to once every two months in autumn and winter.

The best option is a well draining soil, for example formed by a mixture of peat and sand so that the water does not stagnate.

They do not need frequent fertilization, it is sufficient to dilute the fertilizer with watering once a year.
