Description:

Small succulent with rapid growth, which tends to develop into tufts giving rise to small rosettes with rather variable shapes. It is characterized by thick and fleshy leaves of tubular shape; at the apex the leaf flattens, ending in a sort of wavy crest (hence the name of the species). The variegated shape of this succulent presents the typical lighter areas in the exact points where the chlorophyll is absent: these characteristics will never be the same from one plant to another, therefore each exemplar will be absolutely unique and, for this reason, highly sought after by collectors. At the base of the leaves is often present, in some specimens, a thin yellowish-orange down. This plant, which in the habitat grows between rocky slopes, can take on various shades of green, often with red or purple shades determined by the conditions of growth and sun exposure. The flowering takes place on small and long stems generating tubular flowers of variable colors.

Plant care:

It requires a lot of light all year long while avoiding direct sunlight.

Its natural habitat is in tropical climates, thus it does not withstand temperatures below 10 °C and it does not like too dry heat. It is therefore advisable to keep it away from cold and intense sun.

Water moderately and only when the soil is completely dry. Once every two weeks in spring and summer, reduce it to once every two months in autumn and winter.

The best option is a well draining soil, for example formed by a mixture of peat and sand so that the water does not stagnate.

They do not need frequent fertilization, it is sufficient to dilute the fertilizer with watering once a year.
