Description:

It is a plant, which is highly sought after by green collectors for its swollen and very massive caudex, of the most extravagant shapes, which make each specimen unique in its genus. From this splendid swelling, which varies in color from greyish green to dark brown, short and very tortuous branches grow, at the apex of which large obovate and glabrous leaves emerge, that are of a glossy dark green color on the upper surface and a lighter opaque green one on the other side. Even before its leaves appear, beautiful red or pink tubular flowers often bloom on the bare branches, which create a truly scenographic effect together with the apparently dry branches. This plant is much loved for its perfect appearance of a wonderful bonsai, but also for its extreme resistance to drought. Adenium arabicum is a specimen that cannot be missing in your collections!

Plant care:

It requires a lot of light all year long, however avoid direct sunlight especially duting the hottest hours of the day.

Its natural habitat is in tropical climates, thus it does not withstand temperatures below 10 °C, and it does not like too dry heat. It is therefore advisable to keep it away from cold and intense sun.

Water moderately, only when the soil is completely dry. It is enough to water the plant once every two weeks in spring and summer, reduce it to once every two months in autumn and suspend it completely in winter.

The best option is a well-draining soil , even better if further enriched with inert materials such as pumice, sand or lapilli.

They do not need frequent fertilization, it is sufficient to dilute the fertilizer with watering once a year.
