Parodia chrysacanthion f. variegated (Variegated)

The variegated shape of this cactus presents the typical yellow areas in the exact points where the chlorophyll is absent; such areas will never be identical from one plant to another, thus making each exemplar absolutely unique and, for this reason, very sought after by collectors. The P. chrysacanthion, also called "golden powder puff", is a globose cactus tending to become slightly columnar, which can grow up to a diameter of about 10 centimeters. It has a body flattened at the apex, of pale green color, completely covered by long golden needle-like thorns, thick and well straight. At the apex the spines tend to thicken even more, directing themselves upwards, really creating the impression of a golden down thanks to the thick presence of thorns and white fluff. During the flowering period, in spring, it gives us beautiful yellow flowers.
